Seasonal Allergies & Hypermobility
Who else is congested right now? 🤧
Here we are again with changing seasons and lots of allergies. Your hypermobilty & allergies may actually have to do with one another. Let's talk about it!
Why upper body strengthening is SO hard
It’s not just you who feels like upper body progress is so slow. Whether it’s muscular issues or feeling lightheaded with upper body movements, hypermobility and dysautonomia can impact so much. Let’s talk about why this is so hard!
Bracing vs Immobilization for Proprioception
I remember slamming my fingers in car doors far too often as a child. One day, it turned more into bumping into walls. Why did this happen? Keep reading to learn more!
Finding Your Care Team
Hi Stretchy Pals, Chaos Coordinator Jess here! I'm currently going through the process of finding a good care team for my HSD/EDS journey and I wanted to share my experiences with you all. Hopefully some things I share here will help you on your own path!
Rib Pain & Hypermobility
Are you ever left with terrible mid back or side pain after sneezing or coughing? This could be your ribs.
Fatigue & Hypermobility
This week, I was asked by a client if fatigue could be related to her hypermobility. While fatigue can come from so many factors, here are a few things that may be related.
That knot you always feel between your shoulder blades
It may not actually be a “knot” as you know it 🤔
Mouth & Dental Problems
Have you had extensive dental work done? It may be related to your hypermobility.
Being Comfortable on the Floor
I received so many comments & questions wanting more info on floor time when it was shared earlier this month, so let's expand on it a bit more!
T-Rex Hands at Night
Since people with HSD or EDS are known for seeking out stability, your sleeping position could be related to your hypermobility!
Toe Holes in your Shoes
Do you also get toe holes right above your big toe? You may have a lot of big toe mobility like me!
Pushing up on your legs when standing
Do you find yourself pushing up on your thighs or knees when getting up from a low position? Many hypermobile people do too!
Sleeping Positions
Why do we sleep with one leg up? It comes down to 2 things: Your body is seeking stability while also seeking safety.
Heel Bumps
Have you ever wondered why you have small little bumps on the back of your heels and others don't? It's a common trait for hypermobile people!
HSD vs EDS
There is a lot of confusion on the difference between Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders and hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Contrary to popular belief, one isn’t “worse” than another, one just fits specific criteria.
Hypermobility Quirks
For EDS & HSD Awareness Month this May, I'll be breaking down why we may do the quirky things found in my viral video! This week, let's talk about those little bumps on our heels and why we soak our shirt when doing dishes.
