Fatigue & Hypermobility

  1. Nutrient absorption and blood sugar regulation: Gut issues often come along with hypermobility syndromes. This can be due to both stretchiness in the digestive system and/or dysautonomia related symptoms. Not only does this lead to poor absorption of nutrients, but it also can impact blood sugar levels. Both of these things are essential for balanced energy.

  2. Quality Sleep: Those with hypermobility are 3x more likely to have mild sleep apnea. Tissues in your neck can collapse at night + your facial structure can impact your tongue position, leading to airway issues. If you wake up with morning headaches and aren’t rested, it may be worth looking into this.

  3. Dysautonomia: Dysregulation, leading to increased heart rate, can physiologically tax your body to where it’s essentially working out all of the time. This, plus poor recovery, can lead to never ending fatigue.

So where do we start? If you suspect 1 or more of the above, start with working on 1 at a time. Get a spot with a sleep specialist, dietitian, or work on your recovery (I can help with this part).
